My brief summary of the book

Catherine de Medici or Caterina is living a luxurious life in Palazzo Medici. One day, the people of Florence wanted to rebel against the Medici family. Catrina had to flee Palazzo Medici with her aunt Clarissa Strozzi and her nursemaid Elisabetta. Catrina soon got separated from her aunt and nursemaid. The governor forced Catrina to live in Santa Lucia’s convent, where the nuns hated the Medicis. Catrina must remain strong and remember that she is a Medici no matter what anyone says!

My thoughts

I have conflicted feelings about this book. I love the Young Royals series and the way Carolyn Meyer writes, but this one, in particular, didn’t spark my interest. The story was bland to read. The treatment that Catherine received in the convent miffed me. On the bright side, I learned more about living in Renaissance Italy, Catherine de Medici, Renaissance France, etc.

My rating

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
