A girl learns her place in the Japanese imperial royal family and strives to do her best to fit in.

Izumi Tanaka, an 18-year-old woman, was always curious about her father’s and her identities. One day, while researching old Harvard records and discovering an old poem written by her father to her mother, Izumi learns that her father is Crown Prince Toshihito. This discovery prompts her to travel to Japan to explore more about her father, the imperial family, and, most importantly, about herself.

The story occurs in two exciting and contrasting locations – modern-day California and Japan. The author does a fantastic job of describing the beautiful cities of Japan, the imperial family, the mouth-watering food, and much more!

I tried reading this book a few months ago but couldn’t finish it for some reason. However, I decided to give it another chance and continue where I left off. Trust me, I was so glad I did!

The characters are all unique and inspiring in their own way. Izumi is a humorous and determined character, always ready with wise words and witty jokes. Akio, Izumi’s bodyguard, is a deep and intriguing character, while Noora is clever and comical. And let’s not forget Crown Prince Toshihito, who is kind and compassionate.

This duology is perfect for anyone looking to break barriers and bend the rules. So, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy and dive into this fantastic world today!
