Two boys make a deal about life and death.
Andrew, Drew for short, has to spend a few weeks with his Great Aunt Blythe until his parents return from their dig in France. Drew feels terrible about this house because some things refuse to stay buried. Imagine his surprise that one night, his long-dead relative Andrew visited him to make a deal. The thing is, Andrew is dying of Diptheria, and he is from a time when they didn’t have the medicine, so he wanted to switch with Drew to receive it. But little did they know that their switch could drastically change their time periods.
Another book was well written by Mary Downing Hahn! I loved the idea of these two boys switching through their times, but if I experienced that, I would be scared of not returning to my time! It was interesting to read what life was like in 1910 in America.
Drew was a shy boy but showed bravery at the best of times. He had the guts to switch to 1910 and pretend to be Andrew! Andrew was my favorite and a very humorous character. I was not too fond of Drew’s great-grandfather, though.
Give this book to any time-traveling fans who love a fantastically spooky story!
