Please read my review of the first book in the series here.
A Princess must escape the reaches of a tyrant for the sake of others.
After escaping imprisonment, Brie is home again in Mt. Elrad. But things have changed; Milly, Flinton’s wife, is pregnant, and Taeo has become worried for Brie. The Blameless in this stronghold are worried that Vaylec will come searching for Brie in this place, so they decide she will go in hiding. Will they succeed without getting caught?
This book was full of suspense and danger lurking in any corner. It makes you wonder when Vaylec’s soldiers would strike, and this reminded me of Mary, Queen of Scots, escaping from Scotland.
Like in the first book, I still rooted for Brie! She is a brave warrior princess and also a great friend. She sometimes cracked me up. Flinton is among the sweetest powerful guys and behaves like a good big brother. Derek is the serious one but very loyal. Kove is the funniest of the lot.
I highly recommend The Blameless series to fans of fantasy books, a combination of magic, action, and great values.
