My summary of the book
Every 4 years in the town of Gavaldon, the “School Master” kidnaps 2 children. One is good, and the other is evil, to attend a school named The School for Good and Evil. Sophie, a hopeful do-gooder, is sure that she’ll be chosen to participate in the School for Good and that her friend, the goth girl, Agatha, is going to School for Evil. On the night of the kidnapping, things went unexpected. Sophie was chosen for Evil, while Agatha goes to School for Good. Together, they must find a way to escape this unsettling school.
My thoughts
I heard about this book many times before, here on Instagram. So, I thought that it would be interesting to read it. And this book turned out to be one of the best books I have ever read. It retells all the classic fairy tales we’ve heard in a new, twisted way. Agatha was my favorite character because she was funny and brilliant. On the other hand, Sophie was my least favorite; I thought she was snotty, annoying, mean, and whiney.
I liked this one and will read the rest of the series (6 books), and the movie is coming out on October 19th!

About the author
“Soman Chainani’s first five novels in the School for Good and Evil series debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. The series has sold over 2 million copies, translated into 29 languages across six continents, and will soon be a major motion picture.
A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia University’s MFA Film Program, Soman has made films that have played all over the world, and his writing awards include honors from Big Bear Lake, the CAPE Foundation, and the Sun Valley Writers’ Fellowship.
When he’s not telling stories, Soman is a die-hard tennis player who never lost a first-round match for ten years . . . until he started writing The School for Good and Evil. Now he loses all the time.” – Book Depository.
