To celebrate Siblings Day, here is a co-book review about The Land of Roar that we both read. Like Arthur and Rose in the book, Laly and I are still playing imaginative games.
“Captivating, action-packed, and page-turner. A book that you can’t put down once you begin!”

Our summary of the book
Rose and Arthur Trout, 11-years-old twins, are going to their grandfather’s house for summer vacation. They used to play imaginative games such as Roar in the attic, but Rose has changed ever since she got an iPhone. She practically lives in her iPhone. Strange things are about to happen while they are cleaning the attic. When Grandfather wanted to play an old game called Roar with Arthur, he suddenly disappeared! Arthur and Rose realize that Roar is, in fact, real! The twins must venture into Roar to save Grandfather from an old enemy called Crowky. Will they succeed?
Laly’s thoughts
I loved this book – it is my all-time favorite book. The text was well written, and I kept flipping the pages to know what would happen next. The story has twists and turns, emotional ups and downs, laughing and crying, and everything. I was sad to finish this book because it was so good; I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to read the next one: Return to Roar (update: I already read book 2).
Paige’s thoughts
Prepare yourself to be swept away with this simply fantastic book! I’ve read more than my fair share of books; I can tell you that The Land of Roar is such a page-turner. It’s like the author cast a spell on me! The story is very wacky and different from our home, though some parts were moving.
At first, I didn’t like the character Rose because she treated Arthur like he was a little kid and she was a grownup. Overall, an unputdownable book.
