My brief summary of the book
After escaping from the orphanage, Elsie is a homeless orphan in Victorian times (1836-1901). One day, she hears the news that a group of scientists has found a Woolly Mammoth preserved in a block of ice. When the Mammoth arrives at the museum, she wants to see it. Along the way, she makes a friend called Dotty. They then stumbled to a secret laboratory where a mad professor lives. They make plans to bring the mammoth back to life.
My thoughts
“A deep and special friendship between an orphan girl and an innocent creature who just needed to find her way home.” This book is emotional and hilarious too. It’s like a rollercoaster between funny parts and sad parts. This book could be a movie; it has all the ingredients for a perfect movie recipe. It’s my first book by this author, and I enjoyed how it’s written. Easy reading, excellent for holidays or school breaks!
There are facts about Mammoths and Victorian London at the end of the book.
I kept bursting into laughter throughout the book. Some farting-jokes ;-).
