While playing baseball, Izzy hit a home run but accidentally broke a window one day. Unfortunately, the broken window belonged to Mr. Johnson, who lived in an old house rumored to be haunted. Consequently, Izzy’s mom forced her to apologize to Mr. Johnson and pay for the damages. Despite all the scary rumors surrounding Mr. Johnson, he turned out to be a nice older man who was just lonely. However, his rude grandson tried to discourage Izzy from meeting him. While working to pay off her debt, Izzy noticed a girl in the window who seemed to be asking for help. Izzy must help the girl in the window while dealing with her own friend’s problems.

As I turned the book’s pages, I was utterly engrossed in the story. The characters were so well-crafted, each with their unique quirks and personalities. Izzy, the protagonist, was a curious and adventurous young girl with a heart of gold. Her loyal friend Max, while a bit timid and easily frightened, would do anything to support Izzy. And then there was Mr. Johnson, a kind and amiable man who enjoyed the company of others.

The plot was intriguing and kept me on edge, wondering what would happen next. It was a perfect blend of horror and mystery, with just the spookiness to keep me hooked until the very end.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good horror story with a fascinating plot.
