My summary of the book

⚠️ Spoiler alert Don’t read this if you haven’t read the first one. You can read my review of the first book here.

After narrowly escaping Majellan and saving her mom, Kyra isn’t allowed to go on any “unauthorized” trips. Kyra misses seeing her friends Coyne (an army deserter) and Mercy (her Raturro friend). So, she pleaded with her mom to see Mercy. Finally, her mom allows it, and soon, Kyra realizes that Mercy is in danger because Majellan is after her. Kyra must take Mercy to another nestling and stop the war between humans and Raturro.

My thoughts

I was elated when I read this one. To be honest, I love the second one more than the first. This book has all the ingredients combined to create a great story: plots, shocking truths, and so much more. This book is about sacrifice, loyalty, and being a true hero. It’s fast-paced and adventurous.

I loved Kyra’s loyalty to her best friends and the excellent Raturro. I’m still amazed about controlling the chimera.

The only bummer is that the book finished as a cliffhanger, and now I have to wait for the third one.

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
