An Indian girl, her brother, and their friends will significantly impact the fight between the Marathas and the Mughals.

Prajakta Naik, a 10-year-old Indian girl, knew her life was starting to change when the Mughals tried to raid the village her family and friends lived in. With that change came the discovery of stolen money from their village, which was somehow left behind, and their donation to the cause of the Marathas also garnered the attention of the two great men at the time, Shivaji Raje and Tanaji Malusare. Join the Naik siblings and their friends on their daring adventure!

This book takes place in 1669 India in a village called Naikwadi. I had learned about Ancient India briefly in 6th grade, and with this book, I began to learn about a new part of History, which I love to do. I learned more about Indian traditions, and there were a lot of mentions of the delicious food from there. I loved all the mischief that the gang did a couple of times throughout the story.

Prajakta is a sensible and strong female character. She also is very courageous and determined to do what is right. Sarjya (Prajakta’s little brother) was a funny character. Ganya (one of the friends) was good at mimicking animal noises. Sopan (another of the friends) was a good storyteller and was resourceful when it mattered. Shivaji Raje was a good character, and Tanaji was very charismatic.

Give this book to anyone who loves a daring historical fiction adventure.

Thank you to the author for sharing your excellent historical fiction. Learning History through a beautifully written book is the best!
