My summary of the book

Cordelia Liu, 11 yo, had just moved from California to New Hampshire to start her new school called Shadow school. Cordelia is unhappy with the move and wants to stay miserable forever in New Hampshire. But, something is strange with this school:

  1. It doesn’t look like any ordinary school. It seems more of a castle than a school.
  2. There are so many people in this school. She quickly makes friends with a girl named Agnes and a boy named Benji.
  3. They realize that there are so many ghosts in the school.

Though, something wants the apparitions to disappear and replace completely. Will Cordelia find out who is behind all of this?

My thoughts

School Shadow is such a great series! An unputdownable book that some parts made me hold my breath in suspense. At first, I thought the ghosts were scary, but they weren’t. The book was undoubtedly spine-tingling.
The story was heartwarming and made me smile, but it could also be very emotional. Cordelia is bright, and she has amazing friends to help her. There were hilarious jokes in there, too.

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

About the author

“J. A. White lives in New Jersey with his wife, three sons, and a hamster named Ophelia that doesn’t like him very much. When he’s not making up stories, he teaches a bunch of kids how to make up stories (along with math and science and other important stuff). He wishes dragons were real because it would be a much cooler way to get to work.” – Amazon.
