My brief summary of the book

A boy, named Okwaho, must find his inner peace after his best friend, Tawis, was captured by one of the Five Iroquois Nations. The Five Nations of the Iroquois fought one another for a very long time. One day, a messenger, called Carries, tells stories about a man named The Peacemaker. The Peacemaker wants to bring peace to all the Five Nations. Will Okwaho find peace in his heart along with the Five nations?

My thoughts

I learned about the peacemaker story in 4th grade with my loving 4th teacher! We were learning the story because we were reading a book about the Iroquois native Americans.

It’s a deep story that would transport you to Native American times. This story is like canoeing on a peaceful and raging river; Beautiful passages with inspirational tales and sometimes bumping rocks.

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
