My brief summary of the book
Everything is changing around Paola Santiago; Her mom is dating Aaron, her best friend Dante is avoiding her. Emma, her other best friend, joined a club, and Senora Mata (Dante’s Grandma) keeps forgetting things. But the strangest thing was that Paola had dreams about her father, whom she hadn’t seen since she was 4. Then, Senora Mata falls into a mysterious coma. Paola must find her father, whom she thinks has the answers to curing Dante’s grandma.
My thoughts
The book was good but not as good as the first book (Paola Santiago and The River of Tears; see my review). The book went more profound on the characters’ stories and the tragedies they faced when they were young. But there weren’t many details of Mexican folktales like the first one.
My rating
Do you know the folktale of La Llorona? It’s pretty scary, beware!
