My brief summary of the book

This book is about a 10-year-old girl named Annemarie. She lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, with her parents and her little sister, Kristi. Her best friend Ellen Rosen is a Jewish girl. When the Nazi soldiers threatened the Jewish people of Denmark during WWII, the Rosen family has to hide. Will they succeed?

My thoughts

I read this book with my mom in less than a week; we couldn’t put the book down because it was like a rollercoaster between intense and amusing moments, thanks to the young Kristi. We learned a lot about what happened in Denmark under the Nazi’s rules.

In my opinion, it’s a good example of the Nazi invasion. I liked the funny moments with adorable Kristi. An immense lesson of bravery, especially Peter (Annemarie’s brother-in-law).

My rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.
