My brief summary of the book

Princess Maria Antonia of Austria, or” Marie Antoinette” (when she becomes Queen of France), will marry Louis Auguste the Dauphin of France. Maria wants to do anything to get Louis’s love; write, read, speak French, dress, act, even breathe. She must journey from Austria to France to meet him! She hopes to gain his attention for her. Will the love go on, or will it fall?

My thoughts

It was an exciting read! I was amazed at how the author wrote from Marie’s perspective! My stomach twisted at some parts. Overall, it was an entertaining bookIt extended my knowledge tremendously about female crown heads of Europe.

This book is part of a series called The Royal Diaries.

An epilogue describes the history of the young Queen after 1769, a historical note offering an 18th-century context, a Habsburg-Bourbon family tree, and various portraits of the royal family. Loved it!

My rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.
