My brief summary of the book
Ben Slovak and his friends are upset because instead of doing their Christmas week as they wanted, they are forced to be elves in the Holiday spectacular in Colchester’s mansion. On the night of the holiday, the glass Star of Prague, a valuable, priceless treasure of the Colchester, is stolen! Ben and his friends are under suspicion of stealing the Star, but they are innocent! Can they prove their innocence before it’s too late?
My thoughts
Jingle is a mindboggling, suspenseful, and humorous book, a little bit slow, though. It was fun to guess the culprit of the crime. The dog wasn’t the star of the book, just as I thought it would. As Jingle is the 8th book of the Swindle series, I would now read more books from the series.

About the author
“Gordon Korman has written more than fifty middle-grade and teen novels. Favorites include the New York Times #1 bestseller The 39 Clues: One False Note, The Juvie Three, Son of the Mob, Born to Rock, and Schooled. Though he didn’t play football in high school, Gordon’s been a lifelong fan and season ticket holder. He says, “I’ve always been fascinated by the ‘culture of collision’ in football and wanted to explore it – not just from the highlight films but from its darker side as well.” Gordon lives with his family on Long Island, New York.” – Amazon.
