My brief summary of the book

Finn (8), Emma (10), and Chess (12) had to find their mother back. Their mom (Kate Greystone) went away for a “business trip” after learning the news of 3 kidnapped kids and never came back. The kids were sent to live with Mrs. Morales and her daughter Natalie. Altogether, the kids and Natalie must work together to solve clues left by their mom.

My thoughts

This book was appealing. We laughed a lot; Finn is the funniest one and my favorite (Paige). My favorite is Emma (Laly) because she likes math like me! We were so captivated by this book; we couldn’t put it down. It’s a very creative book too. However, the ending was not a happy ending. I am on my way to get books 2 and 3 to find out how the story ends. Each chapter was for one kid- youngest to the oldest– in a pattern of Finn, Emma, Chess, Finn, Emma, Chess, (etc.); cool.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes codes, mystery, puzzles, or problem-solving. It’s a different kind of book I used to read because it’s science fiction, but I enjoyed it!

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
