My summary of the book
Fortuna is a curious kitten but anxious to discover the rest of the world. When she was old enough, she set out farther than she had ever been before. But no one wants her because of her black fur (In Europe, black cats are familiar companions of witches. So they bring misfortune if they cross your path). Fortuna intends to find the perfect family to love her. Will she find her forever home? Read to find out!
My thoughts
I’ve already read the same author’s book Mario and the Stones (you can read my review here). It was so good that I was as curious as Fortuna to read this prequel. It turned out to be more adventurous than Mario and the Stones. This book gave more descriptions of life in Italy. The book is well-written, and you can learn some Italian words. The cat’s perspective parts were my favorite part of the book. I loved looking at the pictures at the end of the book.
I highly recommend this book for kids who love cats.
