Deena wants to find herself in her art and help her mother with her business.
Deena, a teenage Pakistani-American girl, is deeply concerned about her parents’ constant fighting over money, especially her mother’s worries. Deena’s mother also needs help managing her Pakistani clothes business. To address her mother’s company challenges, Deena created a social media account to promote her business and attract a larger audience.
Business has started booming; however, Deena still struggles to overcome the financial challenges that her family faces and pursue her dream of taking more art classes. Will Deena be able to navigate these challenges and achieve her goals?
This book is a good one. There were some tidbits about Vincent Van Gogh, Deena’s favorite artist. Did you know that Van Gogh didn’t sell one piece of art when he was alive, but after he died, his art sold millions?
The description of the clothes in the book was very well-written, and they sounded beautiful. However, I felt sad for Deena as she had to go through anxiety.
Deena, a fantastic and determined artist, matures throughout the story. Her hardworking mom and kind Baba played essential roles. Additionally, her cousin Parisa was quite pleasant.
If anyone wants to turn their dreams into reality, please give them this book.
If you suffer from anxiety, seeking help from a therapist and reading this uplifting book is highly recommended.
