Did You Know Cleopatra wasn’t Egyptian but Greek through the Ptolemy line?

My brief summary of the book

Cleopatra, the princess of Egypt, is afraid that her older sister, Trypheana, will take over her father’s throne. Eventually, her fear comes true: her sister has become the Pharaoh of Egypt. Cleopatra and her father, the former Pharaoh, were forced to stay in Rome, Italy, for their safety. Cleopatra must fight her way to be the Pharaoh once and for all.

My thoughts

When I was young, I was gripped with Ancient Egypt, and I think I read all the non-fiction books that the library had! I, of course, loved the last Pharaoh of Egypt, Cleopatra. I was so happy to find this book at a thrift store.

I loved how Kristiania Gregory pictured Cleopatra from her perspective. I was appalled at her older sister’s and the Egyptians’ behavior towards Cleopatra and her father. I liked the historical notes at the end, and the book itself is beautiful with gold-tipped pages.

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
