Please read my review of book 1, Compass to Vinland, here.

Destiny calls, and a girl bound by the threads of fate must follow to fulfill it.

After the incident with the Wrathful, everything is tense in Underfoot, especially with Maria Tovar herself. Maria has been dreaming about strange things, seeing weird threads of light that seem to try to tell her something. When the festival of a hero in Underfoot ensues, disaster strikes. The Wrathful breaks out of the prison and kidnaps Wren and Eyota. It’s up to Maria, Rusty, and Pan to rescue them both before drastic consequences happen.

I read the first book, Compass to Vinland, two years ago, and it was an instant hit for me: a captivating story full of magic and suspense. The story was original, brilliant, and well-written. I was happy to reconnect with its characters.

Maria was and still is my favorite, and I was delighted that Mrs. Resh had put this book in her perspective. She was getting more incredible as the story passed, and her ability was still exceptional. Wren is quiet as usual. Eyota is rebellious. Rusty is still the troublemaker he is. Pan was also pretty cool.

I love all the Norse mythology references and the humor.
Fate is a powerful and common theme in this story, which makes the story unique.

I can’t wait for the third book to come out, and I think I already know whose perspective it will be in ;).

Give this book to fans of this upcoming trilogy who love a marvelous fantasy adventure.
