A boy wants to know what is happening to him and what happened to his parents.

Charlie Hernandez’s house was burned down, and his parents are missing. During his stay in the police station, Charlie manifests weird manifestations, such as horns growing from his head and, a few weeks later, feathers. What is happening to Charlie, and what is this mysterious seal that keeps popping around?

This book has Hispanic mythology characters such as my favorites, the weeping woman, La Llorona, and the ever-intriguing El Sombreron. But would I want to manifest some features of animals suddenly? Yes and no. Yes, because they could be helpful. No, because there would be a lot of myths trying to kill me, and I would be forced to hide it.

Charlie has an excellent character and sometimes mixes his Spanish with his English, which is fantastic (I also mix my French with my English, so this one is an easy connection). He is very passionate when it comes to love. His friend Violet is resourceful, and Alvin is funny. La Llorona is well-written and very weepy, as her name suggests.

Give this book to Hispanic Mythology fans who love a good story with intrigue and adventure!
