My summary of the book

Anya has always been trying to fit in at school despite her foreign heritage. One day when things got annoying, Anya fell into an abandoned well. In it, she met a ghost. After 2 days, someone rescued her and pulled her out of the well. Unfortunately, her new ghost friend Emily Rielly can’t follow her; She can’t go anywhere without her bones. So she tricked Anya and put a tiny piece of her bones in Anya’s backpack. Now Anya is facing the tremendous task of caring for her ghost friend Emily, who might not be as sweet as she seems.

My thoughts

This book was very unusual. The story is a little bit spooky but not scary. The idea that ghosts can’t go places without their bones is amusing. Anya is a brave and self-esteemed girl. With her wits and bravery, Anya is unstoppable. Emily is a lovesick girl. She still needs to know what true love means. The graphic novel art is in a lovely shade of gray.

My rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.
