My brief summary of the book

Maddie, a sweet teenage girl, lives in Colorado with her divorced parents. Maddie attempted to organize a secret sleepover with her two best friends at her grandparents’ appartement. Her friends canceled the sleepover, but Maddie decided to stay anyway. The next day, she woke up into a nightmare. Everybody mysteriously evacuated to safety, and she was left behind. Alone! Will she survive all alone, with no power and her only friend, a rottweiler named George?

My thoughts

A thrilling, survival-type story that you could not stop reading. I loved the verse-style writing; it makes a fast reading, but that style makes you feel you are there too. Sometimes, a few words have more power than long sentences! A compelling read that will haunt you even after you close the last page.

The story happened in Colorado and I lived in Co for 7 years! So It reminds me of a lot of great memories from this beautiful place.

My rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.
