My summary of the book

Gemma Merriman is finally getting used to Almosta Farm. The farm animals are friendly, and her cousins are incredibly kind to her. Soon after settling on the farm, her Uncle Roy and Aunt Linda had just been gifted with turkeys! It’s Gemma and the cousin’s responsibility to look after these animals. Her cousins are starting to argue about building a tree castle. Gemma knows that her cousins must cooperate, or this will be a bad summer.

My thoughts

What a fun and agricultural adventure-packed story for kids! The book talked about farm animals, engineering, guinea pigs, etc. The descriptions were well-written, and you could vividly picture them. The book described the animals exceptionally! I loved the descriptions of the Guinea pigs; they sound so cute! But I was not too fond of the turkeys; they seemed weird. I learned a lot about building treehouses, and that was cool. The book also teaches about how to cooperate with other people. I also learned a new word about it: Consensus.

My rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
