Hi! Welcome to Paiges & Lalypops!
Paiges & Lalypops originally started as an Instagram account (paige.s.reading) for my daughter Paige, who was almost 11 (in 2021), to review middle-grade books from a tween perspective. We wanted to inspire parents for their tween’s next read.
Reading is in Paige’s DNA, and we wanted to give her a meaningful purpose – a reason to develop her reading and writing skills. Paige had to think about writing a summary of the book, expressing her feelings about the book (the most challenging part), and holding a reader’s interest for the whole time. Instagram has been a unique, creative, and fun outlet.
We didn’t expect the Instagram community’s enthusiasm and the fantastic connection with authors from all around the world.
That brings us to the creation of this site, Paiges & Lalypops! This blog will be co-written by my daughter Paige (13) and me, her mom. Laly, Paige’s little sister, 11, wanted to contribute too. Laly will “pop” occasionally to write a review.
My daughters will write short summaries and opinions on middle-grade (8-12) and upper-middle-grade, YA (12-17) books. We will compile book lists from the books they loved, and we are sure your tweens will too!
What a great experience as a mom to explore the world of literature altogether.
I acquired experience building and running a website with my husband –beansandburrs.com, about making better coffee at home. Paige and Laly got involved in the design of this new website. They even brainstormed for the name: Paiges & Lalypops!
Meanwhile, backstage, I will establish a solid social media presence and promote the blog through Instagram, Pinterest, my personal Facebook page, and our local network.
Let me present you, my little co-workers 😉
Paige, aka reading machine, wikiPaigey
“Greetings! My name is Paige, and welcome to our blog. I am 13 years old, and I have an intense passion for reading. I started as an IG book reviewer. After a while, I received books from authors! WOW, I was so happy!
Books awe and inspire me. I love books because they transport me into an imaginary world with friends and enemies.
My favorite genres are historical fiction and fantasy;
My favorite books are Anastasia and her sisters by Carolyn Meyer, Victoria Rebels by Carolyn Meyer, the Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan;
My favorite food: sushi and duck
My favorite school subject: Social Studies
I hope you will have a great time reading my blog and be inspired to read excellent books.”
Note: Paige has experience as a beta reader, received some ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) and an uncorrected proof book for her feedback.
Laly
“Hello! I am Laly. I am 11 years old, and I love comic books. I love cats, drawing, and math.
Writing reviews is like paraphrasing a beautiful world of imagination written down on paper.
My favorite genres are graphic novels, realistic fiction;
My favorite books: The Land of Roar series, Chi’s sweet home
My favorite food: Spicy tuna crunchy roll sushi.”
“We can’t wait to share our recommendations and reviews with everyone” – Paige and Laly.

A special note for authors:
You’ve written a book, it is soon to be released or already published, and you’re ready to get the word out. Your editor, family, and friends all say it’s excellent, but you’d like some unbiased, honest feedback from your target audience. You are welcome to contact us to review your book. But keep in mind that Paige or Laly’s first job is to go to school. They are giving up their free time reading your book and writing a review. Please note that their feedback will never be as in-depth as adults’. But I think this is the most precious point of view you could get from the intended audience.
Their reviews will be short and sweet, and the book lists will compile all their favorites.
E-books, Galleys can be sent, but we prefer the paper. Furthermore, a lovely book cover makes a better picture, especially on Instagram.
Note that we cannot guarantee a timeframe and a publication date.
Please check out our website if it matches your audience. Then, feel free to contact us. Thank you!
