Sara’s life seemed perfect until the Nazis arrived, and everything changed. One day, she had to evacuate the school, but instead of staying with her classmates, she chose to hide. It was during this time that Julien, a disabled boy who had sat next to her for years but to whom she had never spoken—despite many people making fun of him for using crutches—found her. He helped her and provided a place to hide as they waited for the war to end.

This book captivated me with its profound narrative and emotional depth. The storyline was both beautiful and heartbreaking, leaving a lasting impression on my heart.

I was particularly drawn to Julien’s character; despite his unassuming appearance, he possesses inner strength and a profoundly compassionate nature that shines through in his actions. His unwavering concern for the well-being of others makes him truly admirable. Sara was another character who resonated with me; her passion for drawing and creativity mirrored my own experiences, making her journey more relatable.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone in search of a poignant and soul-stirring tale that lingers long after the final page is turned.
