A while ago, Felix Powell and his Nan bought a blanket from a thrift store. He didn’t know why, but the blanket felt special. During a picnic with his dog, Mary Puppins, they were playing hide-and-seek. Felix hid under the blanket and miraculously transformed into a dog! Now, Felix must find a way to turn back into a human before his Nan finds out that he’s missing.

I recently finished a book that I found to be incredibly enjoyable. The main character, Felix, possesses the unique ability to communicate with animals, making the story all the more fascinating. One of the standout characters in the book is Mary Puppins, who adds an element of lightheartedness to the narrative. However, my absolute favorite character was the cat Gumbo, whose interactions with Felix and Mary Puppins provided some intriguing conflict.
While I appreciated the book overall, I found it slightly disappointing that Gumbo was portrayed as a pampered antagonist with an oversized ego. However, I recognize that this is a common trope in stories involving dogs and cats.
Despite this, I still highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of canine companions.
