In the aftermath of their last adventure, Ben, Erica, Mike, Zoe, Cyrus, and Erica’s parents were relocated to a remote spy school in the harsh wilderness of Alaska. Training days were long and grueling, but nothing could have prepared them for the sudden, spine-chilling cries of Cyrus being taken by Russian kidnappers.
Erica, Ben, Mike, and Zoe were determined to rescue their friend and comrade, no matter what it took. They braved the icy waters and outran a nuclear Russian military submarine, but the Russians proved to be one step ahead. They took Cyrus to a secluded island nearby, where they met a mysterious man named Ivan.
Ivan had a dangerous proposition for the team; he believed the purchase of Alaska was not legitimate, and he demanded proof from Cyrus to support his claim. Failure to comply could have catastrophic consequences, as Ivan threatened to carry out a doomsday plan that would plunge the state of Alaska into darkness forever.
Wow, have you ever read a book that made you feel like a spy saving the world? If not, you should check out Spy School! I recently finished one of the books in the series, and it was absolutely captivating. Even though it was later in the series, I could easily jump right in and follow the story.
The book is told from the perspective of Ben, and let me tell you, he’s quite the character. I loved getting to know all of the unique personalities throughout the book.
Plus, I learned some new vocabulary words, like “fjord” – who knew?
You will love this book if you’re into espionage, action-packed adventures, and a bit of Russian intrigue. I’m already itching to read the rest of the series!
